Callin' all Berliners, William Nein & Le Horror Me (Heiko) are playin' a show tonight at Gelegenheiten, Weserstrasse 50 - THIS is the event link.

I'm gonna be out in London tonight celebrating the birthday of our very own GROKE with RILEY & THE GANG minus ABSENT GANG MEMBERS. Spent the day on a truly wombling adventure with little Milia:

I'm at Gymboree with my sister's children today.. it's a kindof playgroup for under 5's. Overwhelmed at the best of times, I'm finding the whole thing quite bewildering. I've started to notice that I'm not so much the modern man as I once thought. For example, though it's mainly mothers & nannies here, there are a few men inside the play area with their shoes off, completely involved in the fun & games, and then there's me & this other guy standing by the door, occasionally holding it open for mothers passing through with prams & keeping an eye on the kids to see they're safe, but generally leaving them to explore & interact with other children for themselves. Even then, with all the madness of a bunch of bantam lunatics (kids) running amok & pulling my beard, I'm not sure I can face much more of this!

And we're in Wimbledon. I can't imagine the Gymboree in Uxbridge is similar at all. Bet the mothers are drinking cans of cider & smokin' outta broken windows up there.

Been working with London rapper Chxxlie on a very uncharacteristic pop tune for a specific someone to sing. It's real fun but a lot of work doing something like that, for me at least, as I'm used to working from inspiration, whereas crafting a pop song is purely about perseverance & hard work.

Colour Me Wednesday are playing at the Purple Turtle in Camden tomorrow evening, will be good to catch up with them.

I love a New Year, me. There's so much incredible stuff happening these days that I can hardly wish for a fresh start, but.. let's keep to musical topics for the time-being. I've almost missed out on New Releases by artists I love, even though I'm subscribed to their Facebook updates etc, as I don't read a tenth of the nonsense on my news feed. Therefore, it was only through poking about the internet that I found most of my current favourite music. Most people are not able or willing to spend so much time looking for songs that may or may not exist yet, and the majors are using this to feed us evermore backward bollocks via the channels that people are forced to rely on or those they know & (sadly) still trust..

And London is the worst.

I'm shocked to find the masses here, with regard to the arts, more sedated, spoonfed & happily powerless than ever before. Thank the Lord for the internet, blog writers, sites like Bandcamp and those with a little imagination who are going from strength to strength despite the brick walls on all fronts save the fourth.

It's been so long since I kept this blog that I've no idea where to pick things up. Start with this long-awaited debut album from New York's strikingly universal Art Sorority For Girls:
