Tue 31st July, 2012 Prepare to cry tears of sexualness because there is some news regarding the bar that Jet Tea & I have been planning to open next year.. having considered many elaborate locations for such an establishment, principally Cyprus & Slovenia, we've now settled on somewhere far more ridiculous.. London! Was a thought out of the blue, but made sense almost immediately. I've been saying that London has been shitty for quite some time now, this is our chance to bring back some glory to the story. See Jet Tea's blog for a much more poetic explanation of the plan. |
Mon 30th July, 2012 Recorded distorted guitars for the JEEPS EP today, which have totally fucked up all the pre-mixes, now everything is sounding insane. Actually looking forward to working on the acoustic flipside after this, at least my ears & neighbours are anyway. That 8 second solo on Office of Love, Jeeesus. So what's the deal with this twin EP thing then? I'll tell you if you like, sit down & listen to this beautifully pretentious bullshit: we are releasing 400 personalised prints of artwork by Matt Collier, who's superbly distinctive work can be sampled on http://mattcollier.com. There will be two separate artworks, one for each of the EPs, and download codes for the music can only be obtained from the artwork. So you buy one or both signed piece of art, designed to work together, direct from the artist, and you get the twin JEEPS EP. Not only this! The JEEPS website will be documenting the progress of the collaboration with visual & audio samples of work in progress material. What the actual fuck. And these EPs will be available in no other form until all 400 artworks have been sold.. you got that? Even if it takes fifty years, which it probably will. Release date Mon 27th Aug. |

Wed 25th July, 2012 I must be looking particularly fabulous today for some reason, as I was just hit on twice on my way back from central in the middle of the day. The second was a greek looking woman in her late 30's, nifty but no great shakes there, the first, however, was a French, middle aged jewish guy in full Hebrew attire who secretly filmed me on his phone before sitting next to me & asking if I'd like to come to his home to hear him play violin. An offer I would have happily accepted had he not been stroking my arm lightly at the time. Show yesterday was a quiet but fun affair, traditional Swedish folk song is going down a storm, will try record that soon. Preparations for New York are underway, looks like limited funding will prevent our intended jaunt out to Santa Fe, looking at flights direct to the big smoke. EP is gonna be in two parts, released simultaneously, the first is three tracks of the full band, the second an acoustic disc with different tracklisting, so that's six tunes in all, seven with the bonus track. |
Tue 24th July, 2012 Another week, another idiot panda making a fool of itself on the internet. Been surprisingly sober this past few days, busy working on a JEEPS EP that's gonna slay you in your boots when it's released in a few weeks. Playing a short set at The Library in Highbury & Islington tonight, free entry from 8:30ish. |
