Wed 14th May Played a last minute set at the Hawley Arms tonight as part of 2014 Camden Create Festival, was great! Now, this site is gonna disappear very soon, and some of the material I'm about to release is not strictly Jeeps specific, so have a look at what I've done with thebed.co.uk It's just a start, but you see where we're all going. And yes, my Best Of, the Glen Strachan Solo Collection is gonna be released very soon indeed. |

Mon 12th May This website still seems to be online, and I'm still uploading a song a day to Soundcloud, funny how the two albums I thought were furthest from finished are practically done now. Couldn't find the headspace to do much reading at the start of this year, but crazy back on it now, been hitting a lot of Russian literature, Pushkin in particular, man that guy wanted to be Russia's Shakespeare so bad. A fine attempt. And why the blazes did nobody think to tell me that Neil Young recently released an autobiography? Highly recommended. Speaking of such things, the Jeeps matinée performance on Saturday is part of a Robert Pereno tea party book-swap thing. Bring a paperback, here's the event, do pop along: Robert Pereno's Dramatic Saturday Tea Party! Did a bit of philosophy tutoring. Designed a website. Corrected a text on the Indian Railways networks. Applied for a job at a library on behalf of someone else. Life's weird. |
Wed 7th May Some of the songs I'm uploading are barely fit for release, but enough is enough, they're done. For example, the 'final version' of They Don't Need Love was left unfinished when I moved to Berlin, so I've uploaded the demo version in it's place. These albums will only be available on Bandcamp etc in any case, so nothing permanent, and once I've released my entire back catalogue in a "state they're in" kindof manner, with just minor tweaks in the mastering stage, I'm gonna pick the best 12 or so tracks & release a Best Of on iTunes & Spotify etc. That'll finally draw a line under the old material.. forever.. maybe. On A Monday is already 90% done. Jeeps are booking a little tour in central Europe for the end of June, anyone who wants to book us please get in touch, especially anyone in the Netherlands or the North of Italy. And once again, this whole site will disappear, never to return (except afresh) in the next day or two, so feel free to have a last look around if you like. |
Mon 5th May If for any reason you have us bookmarked as englandandtheapril.com, please be aware that from next week onward, this page will be hosted only at www.teatone.net. And all of the old pages & data will be deleted.. so I should probably make a back-up of some of those soon because I told some stories back there that I've completely forgotten by now. Might be interesting for me to read them when I'm an old man. Still uploading a song a day to Soundcloud, it's like releasing a bunch of albums simultaneously over a month. So far it's been mostly songs that have appeared online in one form or another over the years, but I'm mastering them myself now so they're all a bit shinier, this week will see some unheard material for sure though. Saw Courtney Love play an intimate acoustic set at a tiny coffee shop in Clapton, about 40 people in the audience, there's a pic on our Jeeps Instagram Page. |
Sat 26th April Alright well I'm gonna continue to upload a song every day until my whole back catalogue is online, so there's no point in me posting each one up here when you can just follow us on Soundcloud if you're interested. Next Jeeps show is a Gesture Magazine and YUCK Indie Club Night at the Enterprise in Camden this Saturday 3rd May. |

Thu 24th April I chose a silly time, just before we went on a little tour, to say I was gonna upload a song a day didn't I?! Ok well we're back now. We played about 5 shows in the North of England & Scotland, and they were all fantastic, thank you to everyone who we encountered & supported us. Feels like I've been away from London for many a long year! Gonna start editing the fantastic video we made of Ben London for a Tea Tone special now. Kettle on. |
