Thu 5th May 2011 More non-French news here, so perhaps I should call this Not Paris Week, but in any case I've fallen head over heels for a Bigott track called My My Love.. which doesn't have a video, so here's another great song that does. Shirt matches sky, don't doubt it: | ||||
Wed 4th May 2011 Also not from Paris, or even France this time, but fuck me it's worth it - Laura Stevenson & The Cans, in my opinion one of the best bands in the world right now, have made their brand new album Sit Resist available for free for the month of May. I even tried to make the colours of the player match the sky in the Paris Week photo above, man I'm good: Tue 3rd May 2011 This is a video for one of my favourite William Nein tracks, which I've put together from some video tapes I dug up recently. I've so much footage, no doubt there'll be more like this: Tue 3rd May 2011 It's Paris Week on Tea Tone, but let's extend that further South into Central France for a moment there as Niandra Lades are finishing work on their debut album, and I hope to catch up with them while I'm in the country. In the meantime, here's an interesting live performance of a track from their Triangle, Square, Circle, Animals EP: Mon 2nd May 2011 I was just looking at other blogs that are featuring the new Roxy Rawson single, below, and I noticed a massive difference between my site & the others; I don't review releases. These other pages are littered with the same old references, "Roxy embodies the spirit of folk punk", "Ethereal vocals over a plucked violin", eurgh - it goes without saying that I think everything I put on here is amazing. If it's here, I think it's fabulously interesting, and if you & I have anything in common, hopefully you'll find stuff to like too. It was strange going through all those video tapes this weekend. Some of them I had to watch through gaps in my fingers, and I haven't even started on old footage of TheBed yet. We filmed a lot in those days, so I'm gonna try to put together a video for that band in the vein of the England & The April one. Currently listening to the forthcoming album by Bleech. It's called Nude - don't google it cos you just get anime porn. Also, unfortunately the only track they've put online so far is by far my least favourite, so I'm not gonna share it with you. It's not good enough for my Tea Toners, but when they put Weirdo, Flowerhands or Dancing Without You up, I'll let you know :o) Mon 2nd May 2011 The new single from the singular Roxy Rawson, out today: Available on Bandcamp & iTunes |
