Wed 11th March G: I'm gonna start signing my initial to these posts 'cos Eddie might start writing updates here soon, don't want her good name to be tarnished by my sordid scripts. We stepped off the Eurostar from Paris yesterday afternoon & went directly to The Finsbury to sound-check for a show there. The venue has been much modernised since the last time I played there, superb room for live music that, and free entry too. Dammit girl I'm shattered, gotta go teach in Wimbledon now but will update you proper later on right. Playing Power Lunches on Saturday, that'll be grand x Thu 5th March G: When I don't drink for a couple days, my singing voice gets better, my skin gets worse and my body aches. Such a minefield, and weird how it can take half a lifetime to figure things out about yerself. So it's World Book Day today is it? What in god's fuck is that supposed to mean? You're all mental. JEEPS are of to Amsterdam, Antwerp & Paris from tomorrow. These micro-tours are a lot more effective than the drawn-out drunken debaucheries of previous years. Productivity tends to flatline in our case after 6 days or so, and these recent explorations are an example of how to 'know thyself' is finally becoming of benefit. Let's see what shape I'm in come the Finsbury show in London next Tuesday 10th before I talk too soon though.. Springtime is actually here y'know, we're into our 5th day of sunshine now, there's no going back now you assholes of the sky. I've received the script for this soft-porn music video I'm acting in very soon, and I must confess to feeling quite shy for the first time in a long time. One of the girls I'm faux-fucking in the video has a boyfriend it would seem. I'm not sure why, but that makes the whole thing even weirder. I really need to get my professional head on for this to work out or who knows what mess I'll be in. Damn.. I don't appear to have a professional head. Mon 2nd March There are some frighteningly good bands getting dangerously little exposure at the moment, have a listen to this: Sat 28th Feb The Lifewish single is sounding so cool, been recording (very many) harmonies today and it's nearly there. Gonna try a different approach this time & have set a release date for Sat 18th April, with a launch party show at the Old Queen's Head in Angel on Sun 19th. That'll give us time to try get some promotional exposure in the meantime & the video will be ready when the song hits the web-shelves. If anyone wants an early copy to review or play on Goal of The Week then please do ask. Tue 24th Feb JEEPS home from Sweden, with a week or so to recover & earn some money, and then we're off to Paris & Amsterdam for a few shows and a Balcony TV thing. Back for London show at the Finsbury 10th March. Been living in Camden Town, London for a year now, and it's the most settled I've been for a long long time. Seems odd to use that word with all the chaos that ensues day to day, but home is home for now and that's something. Got an event planned to shoot a music video for next single Lifewish, get in touch if you wanna be involved with that (we need dancers!) and what else.. we're gonna start up the podcast again soon. My new band Ellen Terry Court will be fronted by my alter-ego Hatty Redfoot.. I'll be writing material, rehearsing and performing as Hatty, and the website will be online very soon at ellenterrycourt.com It's just a temporary page at the moment but I want to keep it separate from thebed.co.uk for a while. I don't mind YOU LOT knowing what's going on, but from the outside I wanna have no links n loyalties y'know. Sat 21st Feb We're on this beautiful 50s style Swedish train from snowy Stockholm to god-knows-what Gothenburg. There's a piano lounge I told you about, over there <-, with a pretty, shy Scandic chap playing smooth-vibe jazz to a motley few misty-eyed romantics. A lot of tall trees, a lot of aching limbs. We recorded our cover of All The Songs by Sad Day For Puppets the other day, and the singer Anna came to our show in Stockholm. I was, of course, fan-girling all over her & am forever in love, but it was also lovely to talk music with her nevertheless. Young Master Tom is also in Sweden atm & we accidentally hit up a metal karaoke bar on Thu evening where he treated us to some Metallica numbers, much to the delight of a guy who kept trying to foce-feed us all an inordinate number of peanuts. Just busted out a couple ABBA songs in that piano lounge, got a nice applause.. probably a better response than we'll get at the Gothenburg show later. Gonna listen to Sad Day For Puppets & stare outta window now. Tue 17th Feb Let's begin with today. It would appear that my self-expressions through nudity have unexpectedly paid off somewhat, as my bare ass & I have been asked to feature in a soft-porn music video. Had a meeting today with a director & the artist who was brave enough to pose the question, and of course I was sufficiently predictable to jump at the opportunity. At worst I get to grab a strangers ass without having to answer to a high court judge, and that's a win win in my book. Show in Stockholm tomorrow evening, at Pet Sounds Bar, and then we'll be DJ'ing into the night. What will those Scandinavians make of Bigott, Albert Goold & unusual combinations of Ought & Dizzee Rascal tracks I wonder? I got £13, one pair of daily contact lenses to last me the week, and no glasses. Apparently the train across Sweden from Stockholm to Gothenburg has a piano lounge, would be fun to shoot a live performance video there if we can arrange it, worth the journey for that alone. Ok byes for now, feels good to be back x Here are the FB events for the Sweden shows - Stockholm Gothenburg Tue 17th Feb 2015 Due to absolutely no demand whatsoever, I am back for the moment, and I'll tell you why. First off, did you miss me? Ach go fuck yourself, truth is that I've been cunting about on social media platforms to see what it's all about of late, and what I've discovered is that there's no room for honesty there. It's strictly business; 'Hey here's a photo of us in rehearsal; Oi oi we're schmoozing with @belljockey #CafeDeCoque; Check out my pedalboard' kindof horse-crap that's tragically essential in reaching an increasingly (otherwise) isolated audience. And I don't think that's right without some kindof counterbalance. Welcome to the counterbalance, Lord knows I need it for the time-being. So what REALLY HAS beed happening round here recently? I'll tell you in a minute. Mon 24th Nov 2014 As you can see, I've quit this blog, along with plenty other things. Stay in touch by following on Twitter or Facebook, links above. Just getting all my songs up on HERE, and that'll be the end of this big fat line I've drawn. See you on the other side! Previous |
