Sat 14th April 2012 Oh dear oh dear, there goes another of my self-righteous funks! Don't wanna make a habit of that, all apologies. Onward! Show on 27th is shaping up to be quite a busy event, so I don't wanna just sit there playing acoustic guitar like a pudd'n. Have barely touched a guitar in months, but gonna slap on an electric later & see if I can put something suitable together for a solo performance with backup vox. |
Fri 13th April 2012 An unnecessary journey across town has rendered me inactive & alone in Wimbledon with no distractions & nothing to be distracted from save you & I, and the firelights of now-town. Actually I hate distractions, I won't suffer them. These 'tards on the trains with their little electronic games should be charged for the air they barely breathe, and their money given to people who value their time so they can take a couple more days off a week & do something, fucking experience life, feel for heaven's sake, even if it's sourced inside a train carriage, inside a fucking bruise, a doubt, a smoke alarm in a haunted house. Anything that keeps your mind unoccupied is free time & not for farting away into the passing breeze, and no it's not yours to do with as you please, it was given with better intention than that. I honestly believe that staring at a brick wall for half hour is more productive than trying to get a high score on some shitty iPhone game. Unless it's Worm of course, God bless Nokia. After all, one can (and many do) read books of the highest philosophy merely to pass the time; back to the wall for these lost pigeons. Sleep has got to be a better state of being than distracted man. Sleep is golden, even escape has it's worth to some extent, but distraction is the devil's work, rest assured. So here I am. Got my book, got my self-engendered troubles to fathom & endure, meanwhile you've got you. Not altogether chuffed with that distribution of circumstance but time slumps ever bottomward & thereabouts we, mizzling, fritter. |

Wed 11th April 2012 Things might just settle down now for the last few days before I go back to Berlin. I miss my place there, and I got a solo show on 27th April someplace, don't know much about it yet. Got a bit of a kicking from 7 brave souls in Proud Galleries the other day & one blow caught me awkwardly in the back, can barely move at the moment. Sneezing hurts so much it's almost traumatic! Been singing a lot with Eddie & the multitudinous personages that have passed through the Ranch in the past week. Most of those (X) JEEPS videos were conceived & thrown together in a matter of minutes (yeah looks like it an'all mate) but there's a piano version of Quiet by Smashing Pumpkins that is a little more developed & should be recorded in the next days. |

Wed 4th April 2012 After a very stressful day (I bit through my pen on the train on the way home & nearly choked on the plastic that exploded in my mouth, people moved well clear) I'm fiddling with my 'new' website at thebed.co.uk It's a fine line between keeping it minimal & just having a boring, static site - I've somehow managed to achieve the worst of both worlds so far. In other news, I'm attempting to breed a miniature cow to keep me company, feed on a bowlful of lawn & provide me with handy milk rations for my tea, direct from the udder. No luck thus far. |
Tue 3rd April 2012 Thank God for the few with a clue. On top of all that, I count my stars. Had some hilarious moments with Jet Tea a few days ago as he found a way to analyse stats from his blog but somehow got lumbered with a target of 86 visits for the coming week. Unable to establish who was setting these targets (quite unreasonable given that stats suggested he'd had only one hit so far that day) we went for a pint down the high street & when we came back his target had risen to 285 views for that week, with still only the one visitor charted. Speaking of web stats, I went & re-registered thebed.co.uk because I want a separate website for my music. Will be up & running in the morning. Surprise release coming up. |
