Sat 22nd March Wanted to try that embed thing from Facebook, looks kinda messy dunnit. Show at Enterprise last night was pretty damn cool, although our drummer quit the band a few days ago & so we had to use a drum machine for much of the set. Was fun though, never a dull moment in Jeepsyland. |
Sat 22nd March |
Wed 19th March It's not officially out on iTunes & Spotify etc until Fri 21st, but here's the new Jeeps single for you, free download for now! |
Tue 18th March Brand new Jeeps single out in just a day or two.. launch show on Friday at the Enterprise in Camden.. Tea Tone Party on Saturday night at the Torriano.. |
Sun 2nd March Lots & lots happened after the show on Friday, but we'll tell you about that in the podcast that's gonna go online very soon. Apologies to anyone who came expecting it to be a full band show, our drummer couldn't make it at the last minute so we had to make do & it got a bit messy on stage. In the meantime, put Sat 22nd March in yer diary 'cos that's the date of the next Tea Tone Party. And now we're off to play an acoustic show in Old St, here's The Event. |
Fri 28th Feb Show tonight is gonna be an unusual one for a number of reasons. We'll be playing primarily as a two-piece but it's Jet Tea's 30th & we'll have plenty of guests & on stage antics to keep y'all entertained. Here's The Event, seeya later! |
Thu 27th Feb Another song from the Elgin. Bit of a rare one this: |
Wed 26th Feb Last Summer JEEPS took a trip round France, played some shows & had a banana, here's a music video put together from video shot by And: |
Tue 25th Feb A better performance of this song, filmed by And. at the Elgin the other day: |
Sun 23rd Feb Now then, you might remember how mad I got about the New York scene not so long ago, but did I say it or did I say it, Phoebe Novak was doing some seriously cool stuff. And her brand new EP is fuckin' superb: |
Sat 22nd Feb Have a peek at the Jeeps page & you'll see what I mean about all these apps & icons that bands need to have these days.. total madness but may as well give it a bash. I'm saying 'Yes' a lot this year, so if anyone wants to ask me anything, now is a good time! |
Thu 20th Feb Cornermoon, the recent single from Jeeps, is finally available on Spotify & iTunes etc. Fuckin' Amazon have listed us as 'The Jeeps', the silly bastards. I made TheBed one word 'cos people kept dropping the 'the', and now it's (not) working the other way round. Piano show in Notting Hill last night was fantastic, pics & video soon. Rachel from England & The April joined us for the first set, on the grand piano, and we were able to play songs never possible before, including full band versions of A Dream of My Whole Life and The Sad Sad Rain on Aug 23. All go for Jet Tea's 30th Birthday celebration show in Hoxton next Fri night, and an acoustic set just down the street from there at Jaguar Shoes on Sunday 2nd. See the Jeeps Facebook Page for more info & events etc. |
Sat 15th Feb Popped out to the shops yesterday to find, when I got back, that our friendly local drug gang had tried to kick the door in & fucked up the lock. So I spent Valentines Day sitting outside our flat, in a storm, eating Mr Kipling's fruity pie selection & waiting for a locksmith, who took 6 hours to arrive & drill the lock so I could get in & make a tea to go with the very last pie. Playing 3 songs at Zac's amazing Song of Love & Hate at Torriano tonight, but the next big date in the calendar is next Wed 19th where we'll be playing an hour set at The Elgin in Notting Hill. We're planning two sets, one with piano & one electric, with drums & at least one very special guest, so that's gonna be something. Here's the event. |
Fri 14th Feb And. the incredible filmed our version of Won'ring Aloud at the Fiddler's Elbow last night. First show with new drummer, have a butchers: |
Thu 13th Feb First Jeeps show with new drummer Adrian tonight, here's the event. It's very strange, being a born Londoner, to wake each morning to a London city skyline & feel like I'm on holiday. We live on the top floor of a housing estate, but we are blessed here, despite the dripping damp in the storm-battered bedroom wall & the drug gangs that congregate directly outside our flat door. They were smashing the window in to get out onto the roof the other day and I scared the fuck out of them by accident when I came home - they leaped away down the stairs thinking I was a coppa. Well how do you like that boys, a coppa! |
Tue 11th Feb Many more Jeeps shows booked, things moving fast, see thebed.co.uk for all that jazz. Always seems to be a new App or Website or something we should be registered with or available on or whatever.. but we're just spending time in rehearsals & playing shows, and the promotional stuff can wait until we're the best band in the world again.. there's not much point in promoting anything less. |
Mon 10th Feb This is (left) the wonderfully enigmatic Anukita Kann & (right) Richey Otrowski giving it some Outdoors Man action at the Tea Tone Party the other night. Pics links to bigger pics, here and here are their band pages: |
Sun 9th Feb Oh god, amazing night at the Tea Tone Party last night but lord almighty. Saints above, heaven abound, what a mess in the end - after the end, even. Thanks to everyone who came, the performers were all spectacular & the crowd a delight to engage with. But saints above, heaven abound, what a mess in the end. More soon, we're back! |
Thu 6th Feb First Tea Tone Party of 2014 is taking place this Saturday 8th at the amazing basement venue Torriano in Camden / Kentish Town. Here's the Event. |
Tue 4th Feb Fantastic Murdered Man video from the Hideaway the other day, we gotta get back down there soon: |
Mon 3rd Feb First week in the new Camden flat. Been rehearsing with new drummer at Scar Studios which is just over there <---- and preparing for these shows. Also turns out we've moved in across the street from Arnie (remember that podcast?!) so hopefully we'll be seeing a bit of that crazy chap. I can see the Shard, the London Eye & Hampstead Heath from this room on the 7th floor. I know it's been a while since I've shared any new material, so here are a few lines from a current work in progress tune called Lifewish: Windowsill sitting Still with your book bent back You could kill for a ghost of a chance with that Had to chose between the blackouts & the blues & the flat Got so used to the fallouts & the fuse we forgot The rain comes shining down as June spits upon our heads I feign surprise & tune our broomsticks Bright, brash, fled Fled Fled Bright, brash, fled And life reaches out to life As life reaches out to life And life reaches out to life As life reaches out to life again A beam of light, a gleam on unforseen snow I haven't seemed the same since.. I don't know She purged the skies of pride Submerged, the windows rise & slide |
Wed 29th Jan Sorry it's been so quiet round here recently. We were crazy busy playing shows with Jeeps, and then we both got ill, but getting back on track now. Moving to Camden at the weekend, a very central apartment on the top floor of a block of flats, it's damn expensive to live in London town but we're at the stage now where we need to be in the thick of things 24/7. Every couple of years I pick up Paradise Lost, and it's so good that I can't help but feel that god is speaking through it. Surely no human being can create such a work? Every single line of it is a masterpiece. Wasn't getting any action on Tinder so using it to find a keyboard player now.. much more successful! |
Thu 23rd Jan Needed something, as you do. Thought about CAY. Typed CAY into a machine, found everything I'll ever need. Whoever did this, presumably an ex member of the band, thank you: FREE CAY DISCOGRAPHY |
Wed 22nd Jan This biography is catching on: JEEPS - HotVox Booking a UK tour for late April, starting in Glasgow on Tue 22nd. Can you imagine that, with a name like mine, I've never been to Scotland before? So who wants to come on tour with us? Still looking for a keyboard player but sounding just fucking fine without one for now. I've declared war on passivity. This year is going DOWN son. |
Mon 20th Jan Playing at 12 Bar in SOHO/Tottenham Court Road tonight. Rehearsal with new drummer was great yesterday so we're gonna be working with him after this to be ready for the 13th Feb show as a full band. I used to write quite creatively on here, then came the podcast, but the time doesn't feel quite right for either of those things anymore. So what next? I'm up at the crack of dawn & the silence is inspiring. "The sweet hour of prime." We wrote a biography of JEEPS for the Fiddler's Elbow show as a bit of a joke, but it's now part of our actual listing on the site: GM Records |
