Wow whee, what a world. Went & dropped my iPhone in a cuppa Tetley (no tea tone jokes please) and life became an episode of the Crystal Maze once more. One thing that's gone right, however, is that our search for a drummer has finally borne fruit, more news on that soon. Heading off to Stockholm in a few days, if my fourth passport in as many months arrives on time, and then gonna go back to Berlin for the screening of Lars Koch's first feature film. I may even pop over to Munich to hunt down the bag I lost there recently, as I can't come to terms with the fact that my lucky button & years upon years of my writing are gone forever.

Well now, bit of a mystery about this band Matagot, who only had one (remarkably successful) song available until today when this went online 2 hours ago. Going to see them play at Bedroom Bar in Shoreditch now, scouting for Tea Tone, I suppose I needn't say I frequented that bar back in 1997 before it was open.. before we were born.. it's probably a different place entirely, such have the tectonic plates shifted since the dawn of my delirium:

There's something about this new band from London that reinforces my belief that magic is returning to this town:

How does he still have it, what a true great. "I let my heart get frozen, to keep away the rot" - who writes this stuff?! Leonard Cohen does:

Enthusiasts of this site will remember a song we recorded from Anukita Kann's performance at a previous Tea Tone Party and included in a podcast, here's a beautiful new studio recording from her!

Here's a new song from New York's legendary Ray Brown who has been touring in Ireland recently. The track is credited to Ray Brown 5, and I'm guessing Myles Manley is involved somehow, can certainly hear vocals by Cal Folger Day in there too. Or maybe artist names Ray Brown 1 through 4 were already taken:

We've shared music from the fantastic The Left Outsides recently, and I just found out that singer/violinist Alison Cotton has been recording solo demos and they're brilliant, here's one of 'em:

We've absolutely lost our clubnight at the previous venue for being 'too loud', but for such reasoning I don't give a damn, it is praise indeed to be considered too loud for Camden Town. It's not like volume is the thing we're going for, d'yaknowhatImean?!

Maybe time for a new page. Look at all the fantastic stuff on this chunk of HTML right here! Why do we bother? 'Cos I don't like complaining about the fact there's fuck all out there. WE ARE OUT THERE!

Start of the week, start of the month, and a fine day for the latest from Menace Beach. It's a welcome departure from previous material in that the vocals are less effected, first track on playlist above.

Well now! Tea Tone Party last night was a total banana, but the venue wasn't happy with the sheer volume of it all, so really not sure where to go from here. Got a ton of great bands lined up for future events, but we can't continue to work in an arena that doesn't share our aesthetic. We have options, perhaps a Tea Tone Acoustic Sessions night at that venue, and a louder live project elsewhere?

Great turn out yesterday, some nice pics on the TTFB page.

We used to rehearse at an amazing space in Camden called Scar, famous for the catshit everywhere & rooms shaking everytime a train passes (about 2 feet) overhead, but that closed recently so we've been forced to look further afield. Well, not much further afield is a coffee shop on Camden High Street that we discovered has rehearsal space upstairs, so we tried out Tower 47 today to much satisfaction. Now all we need is a drummer, anyone wanna apply? Below is the poster for the next Tea Tone Party, click for Facebook event:

ROAR! So here's the new dark side of the site, whaddyareckon? Here's a band that have crossed sides a few times, from light to dark & beyond:

Went to see Doe play again the other day & got an interview in advance of their appearance at the Tea Tone Party on Wed 27th, will post that new podcast very soon. The show will be headlined by Aeroplane Flies High from Liverpool, here's a video from them, could this be the best Tea Tone Party line-up yet?
