Thu 12th May 2011 Fascinatingly, the Jewish people themselves chose the term The Holocaust to describe their fate during WWII, which comes from the Greek holokauston, in Hebrew olah, meaning "Burnt offering." |

Tue 10th May 2011 Paris has a lot of potential for a decent scene, but it's very small at the moment. I played Michael, Are You Breathing at Pop In the other day, and I felt that people didn't know what to make of the lyrics.. A few looked unsure whether it was ok to laugh during what seemed to be an otherwise serious performance. Good thing I like bemused faces, I felt like Karl Pilkington on This Morning with Philip Schofield. You know, almost everything I do has a touch of humour to it, I think that's one of the things about my music that's often misunderstood. I'm lucky they understand the words, though! Perhaps another song in French is overdue. Perhaps I don't belong here. I've finally found a decent cafe that's only partly choked out by passing traffic, and I think I may stay here for the day. They put all the bars & restaurants on the busiest street corners, well annoying. But just when I've had it up to here with this place, some goodly French soul will overcome all the odds, go out of their way to help me out, and put a smile on my face for the day. Was walking about, looking for a shop that sells books in English, turned a corner & found a box full of books on some steps with (what I assumed to say) Please Help Yourself (In French) - and one of them was in English, and was about the 2nd World War, my current topic of interest. Somebody places pathfinding books in my trajectory, it's now a confirmed fact. My hair is shorter than it's been in nearly twenty years! |
